A Homestead Brew is offering a paid national apprenticeship program for becoming a certified commercial brewer. There will be incentives as you learn the trade of brewing, hops and specialty crops. This is a one-year commitment with an opportunity to stay with A Homestead Brew and be a mentor for the next apprenticeship program and beyond. The apprenticeship program can also be extended to a 2 year program. There is a weight lifting requirement of 55 pounds. There are incentives to become Journey Level Mentors with supportive services and related instruction reimbursement.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site paid apprenticeship for a Commercial Brewer at A Homestead Brew in Valley Springs, SD. The Commercial Brewer will be responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of the brewing process, including recipe development, ingredient sourcing, equipment maintenance, and quality control. The Commercial Brewer will also be responsible for managing and training brewery staff and ensuring a safe and productive work environment.

• Quality control and safety management skills
• Team management and leadership skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience in the craft brewing industry is a plus
• Brewing certifications or related education is a plus
