Lifeguard & Water Safety Instructors with City of Brandon

Summer is just around the corner, and we're building our team of Lifeguards and Water Safety Instructors right now!  If you are not yet certified, contact Embe or Midco Aquatic Center in Sioux Falls via the links below to schedule your training. Responsibilities include:  

• Opening and closing the pool each day according to scheduled hours
• Regularly treating the pool with the correct amount of chemicals 
• Closely monitoring activities related to the pool area, identifying any safety issues throughout shift
• Directing swimmers out of water in dangerous conditions
• Closely monitoring weather reports to make sure guests remain safe
• Providing swim lessons and coaching swim team when applicable
• Maintaining a clean pool environment

The ideal candidate will have: 

• Must be at least 16 years of age with current lifeguard certification.

Must be able to perform the following:

• Work outside exposed to sun and heat conditions
• Lift/move up to 25 pounds
• Walk or stand for long periods of time
